If you are going to stay and work for 6 months or less in Finland as a seasonal worker, and you do not have a Finnish personal identity code, you can use this fillable web form to ask for a tax card and the identity code.

You can get the tax card if you live in a country within the European Economic Area or in a country that has a tax treaty with Finland.

When you have completed this form and sent it, you still need to visit a tax office to identify yourself there.

The questions to answer on this form include your personal details, how long you are staying, information on your employer in Finland, and how much income from other sources you earn in Finland, and how much income you earn from sources in your home country, which is subject to taxes in your country.

Fill out the web form carefully. Make sure you attach the required documents. If the web form is incomplete, it will take more time for the Tax Administration to respond to your request.

After you have received a Finnish personal identity code, your data will be recorded in the Population data services agency (DVV). The data is used by the Tax Administration, the police, and other officials of the State of Finland and Finnish municipal entities. The information you give here must match the information on your passport, travel documents, employment contract or work orders. To give any false information is illegal and punishable under Finnish law.
