How to view the balance specification in MyTax

You can view the total balance of your taxes and payments and a more detailed balance specification in MyTax.

In the section Payment status on the MyTax home page, you can see

  • tax instalments that are due next, if you do not have any overdue taxes
  • the total balance of overdue taxes and taxes covered by a payment arrangement, for example.

Overdue means that the due date for paying the tax has already passed. If the due date is the current date, the tax is not yet overdue and it is therefore not included in the balance on the home page or in the overdue taxes in the balance specification.

If you want to examine the balance more closely and also check your upcoming taxes, go to Balance specification. The balance specification shows all your overdue taxes, your upcoming taxes and your unused payments and refunds. You can choose whether you want to view your total tax balance or select a certain tax type from the menu and only see the intalments of that tax type.

Log in to MyTax (opens in a new window)

Do as follows in MyTax

  1. On the home page, click the link Balance specification under Payment status.

  2. The balance specification comprises the sections Overdue taxes and Upcoming taxes. You will see the total overdue balance of all the tax types included in MyTax.

If taxes are covered by a payment arrangement or another recovery measure (for example, bankruptcy, debt adjustment or enforcement), they are not included in the overdue balance but are displayed in a separate table.

If there are more than 10 items, you can navigate on the list by clicking the page numbers displayed on the top right corner of the list.

  3. You can pay your overdue taxes by clicking the Pay taxes button. Read more about paying taxes in MyTax: How to pay taxes in MyTax

  4. If you want to calculate an estimate of the balance on a certain day in the future, select the tab Balance forecast. Enter the date of your choice and select Calculate balance.

Using the balance forecast, you can estimate your balance on a specific day up to 30 days in the future. You can view the balance forecast either for all taxes or for an individual tax type.
