New in MyTax starting 12 May 2025
You can activate Suomi.fi Messages at login
When you log in to MyTax on or after 12 May 2025, the service will prompt you to activate Suomi.fi Messages. The prompt about Suomi.fi Messages is shown to such users aged 18 or over who have not activated the messages yet.
- When you activate Suomi.fi Messages, you must enter and confirm your email address. After that, the service takes you to MyTax. You can see the message activation in MyTax in 1 or 2 days.
- If you do not want to activate Suomi.fi Messages, you can skip the prompt and proceed to MyTax.
Note that even if you skip the message activation, you will be prompted every time you log in to MyTax or another e-service of the public administration.

What does activating Suomi.fi Messages mean?
When you activate Suomi.fi Messages, you will receive your personal tax mail and mail from various authorities only in electronic format. You will receive a notification about new letters and decisions in your email or in the Suomi.fi application if you have downloaded the app on your mobile device.
You can view the tax cards, tax decisions and other letters from the Tax Administration in MyTax. When a new decision or letter arrives, you can see it as a task on the Tasks tab in MyTax.
