Private individuals also required to report their building sites
News, 6/16/2014Households and individuals must report information on all their construction work covered by a building permit starting 1 July 2014.
The requirement concerns all construction activities (as of 1 July 2014) for which a building permit has been obtained.
For purposes of information reporting, it bears no importance when the building permit has been issued. If work has been done prior to July 2014 and the house is completed, except for its final inspection, you are required to report to the Tax Administration that the site has had no activity since July. If it has only been required that you get an action permit (§ 126, the Act governing excavation and groundbreaking), or a demolition permit, for the activities on your site, you need not report any information.
If you have ordered the construction job from a company, or if you have employed someone to do it, you must report your name, address, contact details and other facts, including:
- The location of the building site
- The name of the construction company or the construction worker
- The amounts paid to them.
You are expected to either e-file a Web form at the suomi.fi site or to complete a paper-printed form.
Show the acknowledgement of receipt to the supervisor
When you have reported your information we will send you an acknowledgement of receipt. You must show it to the building supervision authorities. The last date to do so is at the final inspection of the finished house or building. If you fail to fulfil the requirement to report information, we may have to charge you a fine for negligence.
