MyTax will be down in the weekend and next Monday – take care of your tax matters in good time
News, 11/10/2025The MyTax service will be down in the coming weekend and next Monday. During the service break, you cannot manage your tax matters in MyTax. For example, you cannot request a new tax card or pay your taxes. The service break will also affect our taxpayer services: on Monday, only limited service is available. Because of all this, make sure you take care of your tax matters in good time before the downtime.
The service break is due an annual system update. A longer downtime is needed to implement the changes required in the system because of upcoming changes to companies’ tax payments.
Effects of the service break – pay special attention to the following
MyTax
- MyTax will close on Friday, 14 November, at 5 pm, and all users will be automatically logged out. Also, you cannot log in to the service after 4.30 pm.
- MyTax will open again on Tuesday, 18 November, at 8 am.
During the downtime, you cannot log in to MyTax to manage your taxes, such as make tax payments. You can pay taxes in your e-bank, however, but check the required payment details in MyTax in good time before the service break.
Taxpayer services
- On Monday, 17 November, our taxpayer services are limited and general in nature. The tax officials cannot access taxpayer details, and so we cannot generate tax cards, for example. Most of our service numbers are unavailable.
- Normal services will be resumed on Tuesday, 18 November, at 9 am.
Effects on the Tax Administration’s other services
- Tax Number Register: The Tax Number Register is not in use during the downtime. This means that we cannot issue tax numbers or enter taxpayers in the Tax Number Register. Read more: Tax Number Register
- Tax debt certificates: The Tax Debt Register is not in use during the downtime. You can request tax debt certificates from MyTax and our taxpayer services again on Tuesday, 18 November.
- Vero.fi: The Tax Administration’s website will be available even though MyTax is down. Only calculators, such as the tax rate calculator, are unavailable.
- Application programming interfaces (APIs): Interfaces will close on Friday, 14 November, at 10 pm and re-open on Sunday, 16 November, at 5 pm at the latest.
- Ilmoitin.fi service: During the service break, you can submit reports in the Ilmoitin.fi service and from your own software via an operator. However, we will not process the reports until after the break. The report or data you file will be recorded for the day when it is submitted.
- Incomes Register: The service can be used and reports submitted as usual. The information reported during the service break will not show in MyTax until on Wednesday, 19 November.
- Positive credit register: The service can be used normally.
- Palkka.fi: Salaries and wages can be calculated and reports submitted to the Incomes Register normally but the information will not be transmitted to MyTax until after the break. During the downtime, you cannot use the Palkka.fi service to retrieve information, such as employees’ tax card details, from the Tax Administration’s system.
Why is a system update needed, and will MyTax change?
After the update, MyTax will look the same as before. We will make some usability improvements, for example, to the service.
The biggest change that will be introduced relates to changes to the way corporate taxpayers, such as limited liability companies, pay their taxes. In future, corporate taxpayers can pay taxes using a single reference number instead of multiple, tax-type-specific reference numbers. Each company will have their own general reference number for taxes.
In addition, the update will help us prepare for other future changes. More information: vero.fi/changes
