A new version of the Finnish Tax Administration’s Certificate Service was released on 25 March 2026
Key changes:
- In addition to the DNSerialNumber, the certificate’s SerialNumber will now also be displayed.
- DNSerialNumber is an identifier created when the certificate is ordered. It remains the same for all certificates retrieved or renewed from the same original certificate.
- SerialNumber, in turn, is the actual serial number of the certificate, and each individual certificate has its own unique SerialNumber.
- Organizations can now add multiple contact persons in the Certificate Service. A contact person can be added either by editing the information or by submitting a replacement interface application.
- This change does not apply to the certificate’s technical contact person, as each certificate can still have only one technical contact person.
Changes to the Testing certificates section:
- An administrator can now modify the roles of the members of their own testing organization group:
- The administrator can change another person’s role from member to administrator.
- The administrator can change another person’s role from administrator to member.
- The administrator can change their own role to member.
- Note: If the administrator changes their own role to member, all administrator rights will be removed.
Changes to the Tax Administration’s IP addresses of the certificate service
Some of the existing IP addresses will be used in a different way as the certificate service will undergo a technical update.
Check whether the following changes require any actions:
- The changes listed below may require that your organisation should make adjustments, etc. especially with regard to firewalls, if you utilise firewalls to restrict access to interfaces or to the locking addresses of certificates.
- Accordingly, if your organisation uses PKI APIs for retrieving certificates or for renewing them, we’d like to ask you to make sure – after the changes described below – that your internal firewall settings will still allow connection.
What will change for testing certificates on 25 February 2026:
pkiws-testi.vero.fi:
- current IP address: 80.242.22.199
- new IP address: 20.91.225.186
crl-testi.vero.fi:
- current IP address: 80.242.22.200
- the address will change from the IP to CNAME, and there will no longer be a fixed IP address, so to open the firewall you must use the DNS name.
For production certificates, the changes will take place on 25 March 2026 and are as follows:
pkiws.vero.fi:
- current IP address: 80.242.22.204
- new IP address: 4.223.172.193
crl.vero.fi:
- current IP address: 20.242.22.205
- the address will change from the IP to CNAME, and there will no longer be a fixed IP address, so to open the firewall you must use the DNS name.
cinfo.vero.fi:
- current IP address: 20.242.22.205
