Improvements to reporting APIs 1 April 2026
12/2/2025From 1 April 2026, improvements to the APIs for reporting data to the Positive credit register will facilitate the reporting of credit balances and reduce the number of incorrect reports.
We publish the changes in advance so that lenders can start preparing in their own systems. The changes do not require immediate action – API’s can be used as before. The improvements are based on the wishes of lenders.
Easier reporting of lump-sum loan balances
From 1 April 2026, the Payment transaction API will allow you to report a lump-sum loan balance without information on the repayment, interest or other loan expenses. This will facilitate situations where a balance needs to be adjusted without a transaction.
However, lenders will continue to be obliged to report the payments made on lump-sum loans, interest and other loan expenses paid within two working days.
Amount of loan balance of a running-account loan also in the Changes to loans API
Currently, the balance of a running-account loan can only be updated and corrected in the Payment transaction API. After 1 April 2026, it can also be updated in the Changes to loans API, for example when debt arrangement ends.
However, as a rule, the balance of a running-account will continue to be reported once a month in the Payment transaction API.
New checks on the reporting of delayed payments
Two new processing rules will be added to the Delayed payments API:
- The due date for a delayed instalment cannot be before the date of concluding the loan agreement.
- At least 60 days must have passed since the original due date of the instalment in order for the payment to be reported as delayed.
Under the Act on the Positive credit register, only instalments that are at least 60 days overdue from the original due date are reported to the register as delayed payments.
