News about Vero API
Extending the validity period of the authorization token.
Since the current token-based solution did not reduce the number of calls as expected, the validity period of the token has been extended from the previous 60 minutes to 8 hours.
The operating principle remains the same as before, but the time window for acting on behalf of another party has been significantly increased:
- One call to the GetToken interface is still required for customers who need a token. After that, they will have 8 hours to perform all required Vero API calls.
- When the tokens expire, the GetToken interface must be called again to retrieve new tokens for the next 8 hour period.
- Software implementations must take into account that the same token is used for its entire validity period (8 hours), instead of obtaining a new token for each individual API call.
This change entered into production on 5 March 2026 and documentation has been updated in Vero API portal: Get Vero API Suomi.fi authorization token.
We will monitor the effects of the change and ensure that the transition from 60 minutes to 8 hours is implemented as expected across the services.
News about certificate service
Changes to the Tax Administration’s IP addresses of the certificate service, for production certificates, the changes will take place on 25 March 2026.
Some of the existing IP addresses will be used in a different way as the certificate service will undergo a technical update. You can find the changes on the page: News about certificate service.
The changes listed may require that your organization should make adjustments, etc. especially with regard to firewalls, if you utilize firewalls to restrict access to interfaces or to the locking addresses of certificates. Accordingly, if your organization uses PKI APIs for retrieving certificates or for renewing them, we’d like to ask you to make sure – after the changes described – that your internal firewall settings will still allow connection.
Note: Changes to IP addresses may also affect calls made to the Vero API production environment. Service disruptions may occur between 25 and 27 March 2026.
