The Tax Administration reorganises its services: call service for tax cards only available in the mornings

News, 9/20/2024

From the beginning of October, the Tax Administration's telephone service for tax card matters will be available on weekdays from 9 am to 12 noon. This has no effect on the other service lines.

The change will enter into force on Wednesday 2 October. The Tax Administration recommends using MyTax for tax card matters.

“The majority of phone calls to the Tax Administration concern tax cards. Many calls are about issues that could be more easily resolved by using MyTax. From now on, the telephone service is primarily intended for those who cannot use our e-services”, says Hilkka Pelander, Customer Director.

The change is part of the Tax Administration’s strategy to meet the savings goals set for it.

“We participate in balancing the state's finances. The tax revenue cannot be jeopardised, so our cost-cutting measures must not affect tax control. For this reason, we are making changes to our services”, Pelander says.

For the majority of taxpayers, the tax card they receive from the Tax Administration is correct, and there is no need to make changes to it unless their income substantially changes during the year.

“We are constantly improving our services for better efficiency and a smoother experience. For example, starting next year, tax cards will enter into force from the beginning of January. This will make it easier to keep track of the income ceiling and reduce the need for revised tax cards”, says Hilkka Pelander.
