MyTax will be down in the weekend and next Monday – take care of your tax matters in good time

Tax Administration Bulletin, 11/10/2025

The Tax Administration will carry out an annual system update in November and MyTax will be down. During the downtime, only limited taxpayer services are available. For example, you cannot make a tax card during the service break.

MyTax will be down from Friday, 14 November, 5 pm to Tuesday, 18 November, 8 am. During the service break, you cannot log in to MyTax or manage your taxes there.

The service break will also affect our taxpayer services on Monday, 17 November: tax offices will provide only limited service. Most of the Tax Administration’s service numbers will also be unavailable, and those that are available provide only general guidance. This is because tax officials cannot access the system during the downtime.

The Tax Administration recommends that taxpayers should take care of their tax matters in good time before the MyTax service break. For example, tax cards cannot be made during the service break.

“If you need to pay taxes, log in to MyTax and find the payment details before the service break, and then pay the taxes in your own e-bank,” says Olli Sierla, Product Owner at the Tax Administration.

Significant changes to companies’ tax payments

The downtime is due to an annual system update, which this year is slightly more extensive than usual.

“The update allows us to make the improvements required by legislative amendments, for example, in MyTax, and to make sure the system will continue to work smoothly. The appearance of the service will not change much, but some usability improvements will be introduced,” says Sierla.

The biggest change relates to corporate taxpayers, such as limited liability companies. In future, companies can pay their taxes using a single general reference number for taxes. At the moment, they use tax-type-specific reference numbers.

“The change simplifies tax payments and eases the work of companies and accounting firms,” says Sierla.

Effects on the Tax Administration’s other services

  • Tax Number Register: not in use during the downtime.
  • Tax debt certificates: available from MyTax and our taxpayer services again on Tuesday, 18 November.
  • Vero.fi: works normally, but calculators, such as the tax rate calculator, are unavailable.
  • Application programming interfaces (APIs): will close on Friday, 14 November, at 10 pm and re-open on Sunday, 16 November, at 5 pm at the latest.
  • Ilmoitin.fi: reports can be submitted but they will not be processed until after the service break.
  • Incomes Register: works normally but the information will not be shown in MyTax until on 19 November.
  • Palkka.fi: is in operation but during the downtime you cannot retrieve employees’ tax card details, for example, from the Tax Administration’s system.
