Sergel Finans Oy’s certificate expired – gap in reporting

2/19/2026

Sergel Finans Oy’s certificate for reporting loan data expired on 4 February 2026. On account of this, Sergel Finans Oy could not report loan data to the Positive credit register between 4 February and 18 February 2026. Because of the gap in reporting, it is likely that data on Sergel Finans Oy’s loans in the register was inaccurate and incomplete.

The certificate has now been renewed, and Sergel Finans Oy is currently reporting normally.

We also communicated about three other similar errors last week

Certificates for both reporting data and requesting data expire at 2-year intervals. It is important that lenders renew their certificates in good time before the expiry date. We send a reminder email to each reporting lender’s contact person for certificates 60 days before the certificate expires. If you have not received such a reminder or need help or instructions to renew the certificate, contact the Positive credit register on our contact form.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused to customers.

Private individual, do you think there is an error in your data? Do as follows.

When a private individual applies for a loan, the lender is obliged to assess their creditworthiness. To assess creditworthiness, the lender requests a credit register extract from the Positive credit register. Because the register’s data may be incorrect, it is possible that credit decisions have been made based on inaccurate data.

You can check your loan information in the Positive credit register’s e-service. In the e-service, you can also see who has requested a credit register extract about your data and when.

If you detect any errors in your loan data in the e-service, please contact the lender who has submitted the data to the register. The lender is responsible for the data it reports and for making corrections, and the quickest way to have data corrected is to ask the lender to correct it.

You can find the lender’s details in the Loan information section. Please note that the information shows the lender’s marketing name, which may differ from the lender’s official name. To find the official name, do as follows:

  • In the Loan information section, first select the loan whose data you want to view.
  • Then select Open all details.
  • You will find the lender’s official name under Lender details.

If you do not reach the lender or if contacting the lender does not help, you can also contact our customer service. We will help you settle the matter.
