Lender, request a data permission in good time: new data can be used starting on 1 April 2026
1/26/2026Data on loans that have been granted to business name entrepreneurs and agricultural and forestry operators and reported to the Positive credit register can be used in business lending starting on 1 April 2026. Business lending refers to situations such as when a business name entrepreneur makes purchases for their business activities or when an agricultural operator buys agricultural equipment. Lenders must apply for a separate data permission to be able to use this data in business lending.
How can the new data be used?
The reporting of data on “second-stage” loans, such as loans granted to business name entrepreneurs and agricultural and forestry operators, started on 1 December 2025. Lenders have been able to use the new data in consumer lending based on their existing data permissions since 1 December 2025.
Starting on 1 April 2026, lenders can use the data with a separate data permission in the following situations:
- New loan contract for a person other than a consumer
- Increase of the loan principal or credit limit of a loan granted to a person other than a consumer
- Change to the terms of a loan granted to a person other than a consumer
- Guarantee or third-party security for a loan granted to a person other than a consumer
Submit your data permission application in good time because the processing will probably take some time. Further information and instructions on how to apply for a data permission and on the new purposes of use of the extracts are available on the Positive credit register’s website:
