Inaccuracies in income information on credit register extracts between 1 March and 3 March 2026
3/3/2026Update 3 March 2026 at 3.10: Income data is again transmitted normally to the Positive credit register, and income information shown on credit register extracts is up to date starting on 3 March 2026 at 11.20 am.
An error detected in the Incomes Register’s data distribution interface has affected the transmission of data to the Positive credit register. On account of the error, earnings and benefits payment data reported to the Incomes Register between 28 February and 2 March 2026 has not transferred to credit register extracts between 1 and 3 March 2026. Information on private individuals’ wage and benefit income shown on credit register extracts requested on these days may therefore be inaccurate.
The Positive credit register receives information on private individuals’ wages and benefits from the Incomes Register. On 2 March 2026, a technical problem was detected in the Incomes Register, affecting the transmission of income data to the Positive credit register. The problem was resolved on the same day, 2 March 2026.
The errors found mostly relate to the information on February’s wage and benefit income reported to the Incomes Register at the turn of the month. For example, if the payer reported a person’s wages earned in February to the Incomes Register on 1 March 2026, the information may be missing from credit register extracts because of the error. On account of the error, part of the person’s income for February may be missing or the income may even be stated to be €0.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Private individual – this is the impact on you
Private individuals can check their loan information in the Positive credit register’s e-service. You can find the credit register extracts requested about your data under Credit register extracts on the front page of the service.
If you notice that information about wages or benefits you have received between 1 and 3 March 2026 is missing and you have applied for a loan, you can contact the lender in question and ask whether the inaccurate income information has affected the processing of your loan application.
Lender – always consider income information with caution
The Positive credit register receives the information on wage and benefit income from the Incomes Register. The information is transmitted through interfaces (APIs). Because of the error in the transmission of data from the Incomes Register, data was not transmitted correctly to the Positive credit register between 1 and 3 March 2026. On account of this, data is also missing from the credit register extracts requested during the period in question.
Even under normal circumstances, the income information saved in the Positive credit register does not necessarily provide a complete picture of the loan applicant’s finances. Earnings and benefits payment data is reported to the Incomes Register within the time limits applicable to the Incomes Register, so the information is not always up to date. Further, information on business name entrepreneurs’ and grant recipients’ income, for example, is not reported to the Incomes Register, so it is not shown on credit register extracts, either. It is important for lenders to understand that the information on credit register extracts has limitations and, if necessary, also use other sources in the assessment of creditworthiness.
