Disruptions in the New Loans API – unscheduled service downtime on 10 June 2026

6/5/2026

A disruption has been detected in the Positive credit register’s New loans API. Because of the disruption, some new loans reported by lenders are not recorded in the register. The problem concerns batches that contain one or more loan numbers already found in the register’s database. In such cases, the entire batch goes into error. Consequently, some individuals’ loan data may be incomplete.

The disruption started on 20 May 2026. We have pinpointed the root cause, but resolving the problem requires a service downtime. The register will have an unscheduled maintenance break on Wednesday, 10 June 2026, from 7 am to 8 am.

The error affects exceptional situations

In general, the New loans API works normally. However, a lender may erroneously receive an error message stating: ”The LoanNumber is already in the register. The data element must be unique.” The system may send the error message when the batch contains one or more loan numbers that are already found in the register’s database. In such cases, the entire batch goes into error. If needed, you can re-submit the batch in smaller portions, making sure loan numbers previously recorded in the register are not included.

So far, the submission of less than 200 loans has been affected. We have around 12.5 million loans in the register, so the disruption is of small scale. Nevertheless, it requires correcting.

Other APIs for reporting data and the API for requesting a credit register extract work normally. Lenders can go on reporting loans to the register. Lenders can also use the API for checking loan data to see whether the reported data has been recorded correctly in the register. If you detect an error, you can contact the register directly, and we will help you correct the error.  Further, we will contact any such lenders directly whose batch submission has been affected by the disruption, and we will help you correct the error.
