Act securely – avoid scams
View your credit history or voluntary ban on credits only in the Positive credit register e-service. Do not use email or social media channels to send your personal data as they are generally not secure. On this page, we explain in more detail how to act securely and what you should avoid in order to keep your data protected.
Use the right address
You should always type the address of the web page directly into the address field of your browser. This is the best way to ensure that you are on the right website.
- In the address field of your browser, type positiivinenluottotietorekisteri.fi.
- When you go to the Positive credit register’s website, the address changes to vero.fi/positiivinenluottotorekisteri. The address changes the above format because the service belongs to the Tax Administration.
- Do not use search engine results or links sent by email or SMS as they can lead you to scam sites.
- Always check that the address is spelt correctly.
Log in to the service securely

Our e-service is secure
You can use our e-service securely:
- Our e-service is protected by TLS encryption (Transport Layer Security). The encryption protects your data traffic so that outsiders cannot see your data.
- Most browsers will then display an image of a lock in the browser’s address bar.
- You never need an external service to view your own data. Instead, the data is displayed to you after you log in to the Positive credit register e-service.
- Do not give your rights to view or use your data to external services. Such services typically use special software or an online application to collect information from the e-service’s view.
Recognise scams
Various types of scams are circulating by such means as email, SMS and phone. The authorities regularly warn of scams in circulation, but today's technology allows for more sophisticated scams, so be on the lookout.
- The sender's address or name is often manipulated to appear trustworthy, which can make it appear as if the sender is, for example, a telephone operator, postal delivery company or public authority.
- A scam message can be made to look like it came from a real official sender.
- Often a scam can be recognised by the sense of urgency it creates. For example, the recipient may be given just a short time to act, or their account will be locked or their data lost.
If you receive a suspicious call or message
If you receive a suspicious call or message, think before you act. Scammers try to get you to act as quickly as possible by creating a sense of urgency.
- Never log in to our e-service via a link sent to you by SMS or email. We never send login links by email or SMS, neither do Suomi.fi messages contain direct links to our service.
- We never ask for your bank details or payment card information by phone, email or any other means. We also do not ask you to confirm or accept your information in the register. We receive the data for the register directly from lenders.

If you receive a suspicious call in the name of the Positive credit register, please contact our customer service team to find out if it was a genuine call.
If you suspect a scam
If you receive a suspicious message or phone call, do not act according to its instructions. You can also report it to the authorities.
- If you receive a suspicious message, do not click on any links in it. You may wish to take a screenshot of the message before deleting it and notify the National Cyber Security Centre (Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom).
- If you provided your payment card details, cancel the card immediately as instructed by your bank or payment card issuer.
- If you provided your online banking credentials, cancel them according to the bank's instructions.
- If you made a payment as a result of a scam, contact your bank immediately and cancel your bank card and online banking credentials according to the bank's instructions.
