I knit wool socks and sell them at a jumble sale. Do I need to pay tax on what I earn?
If you make products and sell them online or at a jumble sale, the income you earn is subject to tax. You can deduct the expenses incurred from the production of the products, such as the cost of woollen yarn and other materials.
Report this type of income under Other earned income on your tax return. To report your expenses for the production of income on your tax return, go to Other deductions, select Expenses for the production of income and then Expenses for the production of other income than wage income.
