The tax credit for household expenses relating to cleaning and household work

You are entitled to the credit if you have paid for ordinary household work. For purposes of the credit, this includes

  • cleaning
  • cooking
  • laundering, ironing and garment care
  • yard maintenance and gardening
  • snow shovelling.

Examples of work that does not entitle you to the credit

Waste transport, emptying of a cesspit or a septic tank, removal and transport services and guarding and security services are not regarded as ordinary household work.

You are entitled to the credit when you have had work done

  • in your home
  • in your holiday home
  • in your parents’ or grandparents’ home.

You do not have to own the apartment, it is enough if you live there or if it is in your own use.
