The tax number register is temporarily unavailable between 16 and 17 May 2026
Due to a service break in MyTax, you cannot be entered into the public tax number register on Saturday 16 and Monday 17 May 2026.
If you have a Finnish personal ID
If you are a new employee at a construction site, enter yourself into the tax number register in MyTax or ask to be entered into the register before 16 May. To register by telephone, call 029 497 070.
If you are an employee from another country without a Finnish personal ID
Visit a tax office on 15 May at the latest to get a Finnish personal ID and a tax number. Also request to be entered into the public tax number register.
If your work begins during 16–17 May and you cannot visit a tax office in advance, you can begin working without a tax number. However, you must be able to prove that your employment contract started during this period. If you start working without a tax number, visit the tax office immediately on 18 May to get registered and ask to be entered into the tax number register.
The electronic tax number register cannot be updated between 16 and 17 May 2026
If you work on a construction site or in the shipbuilding industry in Finland, you must have a personal tax number and you must be listed in the public tax number register.
