How to remove the transfer restriction?

The tax reductions for motor vehicles imported to Finland as removal goods were abolished starting January the 1^st, 2015. If you import a motor vehicle from outside the EU, do not forget to submit a customs declaration upon arrival.

A transfer restriction recorded in the registration details will not be automatically removed from the Transport Register. Further, the Tax Administration will not issue a decision on the termination of the transfer restriction.

The restriction can be removed at the inspection station after 3 years from the vehicle’s first registration in Finland.
