How to apply for a certificate

The user of the technical interface also needs a certificate, which is used to identify the organisation using the interface and to ensure the integrity of records. The person authorised to sign for the organisation first fills in the application for using the technical interface. After this they can apply for a certificate.

The person authorised to sign for the organisation uses the certificate application to subscribe to a certificate for a selected channel. The authorised signatory subscribes to the certificate in the Incomes Register's e-service. The certificate's technical contact person will receive instructions on how to retrieve the certificate. The technical contact person will receive a secure email message to the email address provided. The email message contains the transfer IDs associated with the certificate request (TransferID and TransferPassword). The contact person will receive a PIN code by SMS that will enable them to read the secure email.

The Apply for a new certificate function is used when

  • you apply for a new certificate (e.g. additional certificates) for a valid channel or
  • the retrieval of a certificate has failed (telephone number or email address has been entered incorrectly, PIN code has been lost).

When applying for a new certificate, you can only choose the channels for which you have previously made an application and the access rights of which are valid.

Certificate's technical contact person

The person who has the right to sign for the organisation specifies the certificate's technical contact person on the certificate application. The certificate's technical contact person can be a representative of a software firm, for example. The technical contact person will receive a text message and an email on how to retrieve the certificate. The contact person can handle the practical steps involved in applying for a certificate. The information required for generating a certificate will be sent to the technical contact person by secure email. They will also receive a text message containing the PIN code for opening the message. The PIN code will be sent after the 'Open message' link in the secure email has been clicked.

The certificate's technical contact person will receive an email about the renewal of the certificate 60 days before the certificate expires.

If the certificate's technical contact person changes, the person authorised to sign for the organisation must update the information in the Incomes Register's e-service. It is important that contact information is up to date.
