Information on the KATRE project
The National Incomes Register project (KATRE) is one of the current administration's key projects in the digitalisation of public services. The project to establish the Incomes Register is a joint venture between the Ministry of Finance and the Tax Administration. The Ministry of Finance is responsible for the overall steering of the project, while the Finnish Tax Administration has responsibility for the practical implementation of the Incomes Register. The Finnish Tax Administration's Incomes Register Unit will maintain the register and serve as the responsible authority after its deployment. The Incomes Register Authority will be established in 2018. The system supplier of the Incomes Register is Digia.
The Act on the Incomes Information System entered into force on 16 January 2018. The Incomes Register was deployed on 1 January 2019. Information on pensions and benefits will be added to the Incomes Register as of 2020.
