Katso service to go out of use – start using Suomi.fi service

8/20/2020

The Katso service will become unavailable in connection with the Incomes Register's e-service on 31 December 2020. It is recommended that you change over from the Katso service to the Suomi.fi e-identification and authorisations as soon as possible.

Even such parties that have previously been unable to change over from the Katso service to the Suomi.fi e-Authorisations are now able to apply for Suomi.fi authorisations. These parties include, for example, municipalities, parishes and educational institutions.

Identification in the Incomes Register's e-service

All other users except for foreign individuals can already identify in the Incomes Register’s e-service using personal online banking codes, a mobile certificate or an organisation certificate card.

Make sure that one of these methods of identification is available to those persons in your organisation who use the Incomes Register's e-service. We recommend that you use one of these methods of identification when you next sign in.

If you have been using the Katso service, grant new authorisations in the Suomi.fi e-Authorisations

An authorisation is needed if another organisation or person acts on behalf of an organisation in the Incomes Register's e-service. The authorisations granted in the Katso service must be granted again in the Suomi.fi e-Authorisations service before the Katso service is closed at the end of 2020. Make sure to grant Suomi.fi authorisations as soon as possible.

Please regrant the authorisations for the Incomes Register in the Suomi.fi e-Authorisations service if your organisation had the following authorisations in the Katso service:

  • Reporting earnings payment data
  • Browsing earnings payment data

An authorised party, e.g. an accounting firm, can also ask for a new authorisation in the Suomi.fi e-Authorisations service.

You can grant authorisations with the help of an official

Those parties that cannot otherwise grant electronic authorisations in Suomi.fi e-Authorisations can use the official-assisted authorisation service.

The official-assisted authorisation service is needed, for example, by organisations whose representatives have not been registered in the Trade Register, the Register of Associations or the Business Information System (BIS).

With the help of the service, private individuals who do not have electronic identification tokens or who are otherwise unable to use electronic means can also grant electronic authorisations.

Authorisation with an application (suomi.fi)

Foreign parties can start using Suomi.fi authorisations in the Incomes Register in autumn 2020

A representative of a foreign company can act in the Incomes Register on behalf of their company if they have a Finnish personal identity code or a foreign individual’s unique identifier (UID) as well as a Suomi.fi authorisation. The UID and the Suomi.fi authorisation must be requested separately.

The UID and the Suomi.fi authorisations of foreign individuals can be used in the Incomes Register's e-service from autumn 2020 onwards. This will be separately announced but it is advisable to prepare for the change in advance. Apply for the UID and grant authorisations in the Suomi.fi e-Authorisations service.
