Katso service ends – how foreign companies’ representatives can use e-services in future

Representatives of foreign companies can no longer use Katso IDs or Katso authorisations from 1 January 2021 onwards.

To replace the Katso IDs, a new identifier for foreign individuals (UID) has been introduced. You can register as a UID user in the new authentication service, i.e. the Finnish Authenticator service, for foreign citizens.

Start using the Finnish Authenticator service and request Suomi.fi authorisation

The authentication service for foreign citizens is available to individuals who represent a foreign company and use e-services on the company’s behalf. In addition to the Finnish Authenticator mobile application, a representative of a foreign company must have a Suomi.fi authorisation that allows them to act in the Incomes Register's e-service on behalf of the company they represent.  Suomi-fi authorisations must be requested separately.

Foreign individuals will be able to start using the Incomes Register with the help of the new Finnish Authenticator app and Suomi.fi authorisations in the early autumn of 2020. The app and Suomi.fi authorisations are already available. The new authentication method has been added as an option to the Suomi.fi e-Authorisation service.

The Katso service will remain in use alongside the new authentication method until the end of 2020. After this, the Katso service will no longer be available.

Instructions on how to get the unique identifier for foreign individuals (UID) are available on the suomi.fi page Information on e-Identification.
