Foreign companies’ representatives with a Finnish Authenticator app and a Suomi.fi authorisation can use e-servicesNews, 2/22/2021
The Finnish Authenticator app and the foreign user’s identifier (UID) replace Katso identification. The Katso identification and Katso authorisations are no longer valid starting 1 May 2021.
A foreign company’s representative can use the MyTax, Lomake.fi or Palkka.fi e-service for the company’s tax matters if they have a Suomi.fi authorisation and either a Finnish identification token or a token from the Finnish Authenticator Identification Service. The Finnish Authenticator service is an identification service for foreign citizens.
A foreign company’s representative can also authorise another party, such as a Finnish accounting firm, to take care of the company’s tax matters electronically.
The foreign user’s identifier and Suomi.fi authorisation must be requested separately
If you represent a foreign company and you do not have a Finnish identification token, you must first register a UID for yourself and start using the Finnish Authenticator mobile app.
If you represent a foreign company and you do not have a Finnish personal ID and a Finnish identification token, you will need a UID to be able to submit an authorisation application in the Suomi.fi e-service. The Finnish Authenticator mobile app is needed for logging in to MyTax, Lokake.fi and Palkka.fi.
You will also need a Suomi.fi authorisation to be able to use the e-services on the behalf of a foreign company. In practice, you should submit an authorisation application in the Suomi.fi e-service, print out the application and send it with the necessary enclosures by post.
With the authorisation application, you request that you as the company’s representative should be granted the right to grant authorisations on the company’s behalf. After the right to grant authorisations has been registered, you can use the Finnish Authenticator app to log in to the Suomi.fi e-authorisation service and grant an authorisation to act on the company’s behalf to yourself or to another party, such as an accounting firm. After this, the party that has been granted an authorisation can log in to MyTax, Lomake.fi and Palkka.fi.
When you log in to e-services, Finnish Authenticator is shown as one of the alternative identification methods available.
At present, foreign individuals cannot use Finnish e-services for their personal tax matters or authorise another person or company to act on their behalf.
