Limited service 30 Oct. to 8 Nov. 2018

We are upgrading our information systems and can therefore provide only limited service between 30 October and 8 November 2018. The limitations concern taxpayer services on the phone, in the tax offices and online.

Please take care of your tax matters in good time before the period of limited service. Our systems will be temporarily offline, so the tax officials will not be able to attend to taxation tasks.

Most of our e-services unavailable 30 Oct. to 8 Nov.

Tax Card Online closes on 29 October at 12 pm. As of 9 November, you can make tax cards in MyTax.

MyTax closes on Thursday, 1 November, at 3.30 pm and opens again on Friday, 9 November, at 9 am. During this period, you cannot file tax returns for example on self-assessed taxes in MyTax.

Individual taxpayers can also start using MyTax as of 9 November. More information about our expanded services that will be available as of 9 November is found in tax.fi.

Public tax information is normally available in tax offices during the break.

Some of our online services will be available, but the Tax Administration does not process the information you submit until after the period of limited service, as of 8 November: E-service availability.

Limitations in taxpayer services on the phone, in the chat and in tax offices 2 to 7 Nov.

You cannot take care of your tax matters as usual at the Tax Administration's taxpayer service between 2 and 7 November. The tax offices and our most common service numbers will be open, but the service is limited to receipt of documents and general guidance. Our chat service will be closed.

How the limited service affects business and corporate taxpayers

  •  MyTax closes on 1 November at 3.30 pm, so after that you cannot file returns or requests in MyTax. MyTax opens again on 9 November at 9 am.
  • VAT refunds may be delayed in November. The Tax Administration cannot process VAT returns between 2 and 8 November, so any refunds requested close to this period may be approximately two weeks late.
  • File a return on self-assessed taxes in good time. If you fail to file a return in November, our reminder letter will reach you later than usual. By that time, both late-payment interest and late filing penalty will have accrued for approximately one month.
  • Additional prepayments cannot be imposed between 2 and 8 November. The last day on which you can pay additional prepayments for an accounting period that has ended in May without having to pay interest is 31 October.
  • You can use the Ilmoitin.fi and TYVI services during the period of limited service, but the data submitted will be transmitted to the Tax Administration with a delay.
  • No data will be transmitted between the Business Information System and the Tax Administration between 2 and 8 November 2018. Data from start-up notifications and notifications of changes and terminations submitted during this period is thus not transmitted to the Tax Administration. However, the data will be updated normally to the Trade Register and the Register of Foundations maintained by the Finnish Patent and Registration Office.
  • E-services for car tax and excise duties will be available as usual.
  • You will not be able to pay taxes as an online payment or calculate the late-payment interest in MyTax. During the break, you can pay taxes for example in your online bank, and the amount paid will be recorded for the payment date. You can check the status of your payments in MyTax after the break.
  • You cannot submit an account number in MyTax. MyTax closes on 1 November at 3.30 pm and opens on 9 November at 9 am.
  • Refunds may be delayed on account of the break. However, the break will have no effect on individual taxpayers' tax refunds, which will be credited to their bank accounts on 11 December.
  • You will not be able to search the tax debt register for information as of 1 November at 4 pm. The tax debt register will open again on 8 November.
  • You can request a tax debt certificate by filling in an online form between 1 and 7 November but you will not receive it until after 8 November.
  • You can request a payment arrangement by filling in an online form between 1 and 7 November. Payment arrangement requests submitted online will be processed after 8 November.
  • Information requests concerning construction reports (details on contract and employees) will not be sent forward until after 8 November, because the Tax Administration cannot process the reports between 1 November and 7 November.
