Spam about tax refundsTax Administration Bulletin, 11/10/2016
Update November 21, 2016 at 9:45 am: The situation has calmed down.
There is a fraudulent spam e-mail message that a number of taxpayers have received today. The Finnish Tax Administration never sends e-mail or SMS to ask you to provide bank account numbers, credit card numbers etc. If you received such a message, do not give any reaction to it, that is do not reply or respond to it in any way.
Anyone who has given their bank information in response to a spam message is advised to block their bank cards. For Finnish cards, the phone number of the blocking service is 020 333 (if you are not in Finland when making the call, dial +358 20 333) and the website www.nets.eu.
We have taken action to solve the problem.
